This Week

This week on the Old guy rules we will be giving you all of the details for where you can log into our channel. No matter where you are you will be able to watch us and find out more about our area.

On Friday, we will be talking to Shelly Greaves for our next video. We will be discussing and hopefully be demystifying some of the problems faced when buying a property here in Tenerife. Hopefully the video will drop early next week.

So here we are starting a blog. Welcome to The Old Guy Rules Blog.
This is where I will be giving my thoughts and letting you guys know whats going on with our You Tube channel, Our Instagram, Our Twitter and our Facebook Page.

Halloween @ 60's

October 31st is our annual Halloween party. As always it promises to be a great night.

We usually raise money for one of favourite charity's and this year we have chosen the Bomberos as they are a voluntary service that is absolutely essential for the  Canary Islands. 

We'll be holding a raffle, Along with fancy dress, karaoke and we'll feed you as well!

Fancy dress is optional. We look forward to seeing you on this great night. 

60's Bar

60's Bar is located in Los Gigantes in Tenerife. My wife and I have operated this bar for over three years and it is the most perfect place to make a living.

It is a small bar situated off the beaten track, yet perfectly placed in the center of the town. It's not that difficult to find, just find the local chemist and go down the few steps opposite and you are there. 

We offer a great welcome and provide a great atmosphere. All of our drinks are branded products so you can be sure of getting exactly what you want. Take the time to visit us and you will find quizzes, games nights and more than a good dose of karaoke, so if you are a budding superstar we would love to hear you perform at our bar.

So, where to begin? This could be a long story, therefore, in an attempt not to bore you, I will give you the abridged version.
It seems to me that at the age of sixty, I probably should not be contemplating a new hobby or direction, but, what the hell. All of my life I have had an interest in technology which has bought me to this year 2019.
This year I have decided to get myself into social media, you know, You Tube, Instagram, Facebook and Blogger. I have had my Facebook account for ages but up until now have only used it for communication and to look at the various posts of others. But now, I have decided to become a force of my own in the social media forum. Hence, The Old Guy Rules.
Recently I have taught myself many new skills. Video editing, Film Making, Sound Recording Photoshop.......The list goes on, and although at this moment in time I am proficient at none of them, I think that I make a passable attempt at all of them. The thing is, when you have a passion for something then you will learn the skill.
The aim of all of this is to promote my area and bring an awareness to my town and it's local surroundings. In essence, a fresh look at where I live.
Using my limited skills, I hope to attract an audience who like what I do.
I aim to blog at least a few times a week and keep you abreast of what's going on.
